An overall layout designed in Photoshop for my new portfolio website.
I think it looks sophisticated and professional and displays my work in a concise, easy to navigate way. Simple but effective I hope.
Having an experienced graphic designer as a brother (oh yes, tips and advice a plenty!) has allowed me to reference my work against what the industry may be looking for. He says at this moment in time website design seems to be shifting back to the minimalistic style that once populated early design technique and this is ultimately what I am trying to replicate here. Intended purpose and target audience for this type of website also does not require an elaborate technical design as I want the main focus of the site to be my work, not the dressings and fancy stuff padded around it.
I compare it to a quarter-pounder cheeseburger. Sure, you get a bun to give it structure, a bit of cheese for a bit of flavour and a little bit of relish as an extra touch, but undoubtedly the piece you buy it for and the part that fills you up most… is the BEEF!
P.S. What do you think about yellow? I like yellow. Reminds me of sunrise and the start of something new. Something is on the horizon and its exciting!
